The steering is mechanical, while for other versions such as the Zen and Outsider it is electro-assisted. The latter gives handling precision, a good turning radius for maneuvering in limited spaces. As the engine revs up, sound seeps into the cabin; the suspension scheme tends to be softer and its height allows it to overcome potholes on the streets.
Engine
The Renault Kwid has a powerful and economical 1.0L 3-cylinder 12V engine with 66 horsepower, with a torque of 94 Nm (9.58 kg-m) at 4,250 rpm, associated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This new engine is known as SCe (Smart Control efficiency), born from the alliance between Renault and Nissan, which means that the Kwid has the best weight/power ratio in the segment with 11.8 kg/HP and weighs 780 kg.
